After quite a while resting on my more or less laurels (past listings) it's time to get a move on and put up some more listings. My goal is five books every day from now on. This should be achievable, but not according to my past performance.

These books get listed in three places: on Amazon, Biblio, and Half. Books without ISBNs (older books) generally will not be listed on half. My prices might vary between these three places. Amazon and Half tell me competing prices, so I peg mine on them. Thus, if the lowest price for Deadly Percheron is $98 on Amazon, I might peg mine at $95. If it weren't my only copy maybe I'd be more reasonable. In fact, I think my Biblio listing is more reasonable.

Going forward (and possibly backward), links to titles of books will send you to the main Amazon listing. My listing will be somewhere amidst the other maybe 237 listings. This is where my photo of the book can be seen, which will probably be a better one than the one Amazon features. Half doesn't let me attach my own photo—at least I don't think it does. Photos are also at biblio. Lots of older listings still don't have photos. Nor updated prices.

I've been lousy at selling direct via email. Sorry about that, if you've tried me. Listing through the major portals keeps me honest—also prompt and reliable.

06/20/05 MON:
---Finally seem to have gotten past one particular obsession--making digital-photo covershots--at least for one particular bunch of books from the cellar--the ones that had been boxed away for at least twenty years and were located in one particular area of neglect. There are plenty more I want to get to, but at least I can slow it down a little bit now--and get to doing some things that a more responsible person than myself would not have to be told not to shirk. As it stands now Covershots 1 (on CD-R available by request) contains 1101 images. The Catalog Data CD-R has 932 and Covershots 2--in progress--1077. Covershots 2 contains some folders with catalogued books--outtakes from Catalog Data to make room for new arrivals there. I am still trying to work up a systematic approach but I can’t always keep track of every wrinkle in the fabric. I’m hoping this will give me a way to at least know what I have and where to find it--even if it’s not so great and maybe I shouldn’t be keeping it anyway. I would prefer to have it all out on open shelves rather than enclosed back inside boxes, but I’m glad I at least had the chance to check up on it again now. Maybe when I get everything under control (fat chance!) I can go back and embellish the information on the books rather than merely list the titles and where to find them.

06/16/05 THU:
---Finally got orders to Wheatland Press, Earthling and Consortium--mentioned earlier--actually sent out. Another, to PenguinPutnam, I still haven’t pulled together yet, partly because I heard the Lovecraft Library of America volume--which a few people wanted--was already into a reprinting. I know there are lots of other titles from there I need to get, but I probably ought to hold off a bit longer on that one. A couple other publishers I should get to first.
